Ask

Material Things

* Religion teaches that God does care about the material things of His children. It teaches that God only moves miraculously in the "spiritual realm," advising many not to waste time asking God for careless things, such as clothes or shoes. But what does the Bible teach? The answer will surprise you... but that's just our Father, never ceases to amaze.

Deuteronomy 29:5 5-6 I took you through the wilderness for forty years and through all that time the clothes on your backs didn’t wear out, the sandals on your feet didn’t wear out, and you lived well without bread and wine and beer, proving to you that I am in fact God, your God.

Matthew 7:11 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask Him?

John 14:13 You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.

Matthew 6:33 “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.

His focus is not the clothes... it's YOU. Because of His LOVE for YOU, He does wonders you wouldn't even dream of. God is good... don't let religion fool you. When you understand what it means to be in Christ. You'll understand why you're loved so much.
