* Desires fuel never ending temptations. Fallen man has only One hope against the destructive nature of sin. Mercy! from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It's only until we own-up to the truth, that the way of escape is provided.
2 Corinthians 12:8-9 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me, and He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
1 Corinthians 10:12 let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.
Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
James 1:13-15 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God," for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he Himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.
Hebrews 2:17-18 Therefore He had to be made like His brothers in every respect, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For because he Himself has suffered when tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.
* Temptations on earth never stop. It takes devine intervention and humility to battle the beast.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
* What hope is there outside of Christ? Thank God we have a Savior who is able to sympathize and willing to help with our weaknesses, through our weaknesses.
