Sinful Nature Will Never Obey God's Laws - The Struggle

Romans 8:7

For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God's laws, and it never will.

Romans 7:18-19

And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can't. I want to do what is good, but I don't. I don't want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway.

Romans 8:6

So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

Romans 8:12

Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do.

Romans 8:10

Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives life because you have been made right with God.

Romans 8:11

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.

Romans 8:15

So you have not recieved a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you recieved God's Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, Abba, Father" For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God's children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God's glory.

John 16:32-33

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

Galatians 6:1-3

Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. Share each other's burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. If you think you are too inportant to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.
